Sketching is an essential and fundamental skill of Art.
Through practicing sketching techniques, the artist essentially trains him or herself to become sensitive to minute details such as the subtle shades of light and dark and colour gradations. It is these sensitivities that are of extreme usefulness to the developing and mature artist.
Sketching, is an artistic technique where the artist directly engages with the object they are drawing.
